  • Lesbian needs a friend

My homophobic uncle found out I was bi when really im gay.. So its hard and not only for me because my cousin is also gay so that's not going to be good when he comes out. Also my dad just said "dont be kissing on any girls" which is making me scared and when I came out to my mom she basically said "oh its just a phase" WELL SHIT MOM I DIDN'T KNOW MY GAY UNCLE WAS OKAY BUT IM NOT. Man I really hated it. For a few days I felt like I wanted to just sleep and never wake up. She told everyone. Without my consent. Because of course she can be a bitch. But i love her and she loves me and she treats me great. She got over it soon but still tells everyone. I'm scared about my dad he is strict and I probably wont be able to do it. My mom was also pissed by the fact that I wanted to adopt a baby and not birth one. But hell this isn't my life I guessed Its ruled by our lame parents. Hell I really hope I move soon in a few years. Ughh. Anyways thats my story.. Peace.

Telling anyone about your sexuality is a personal choice so whenever you feel comfortable to do it, do it. Just understand that you can't control how your parents or anyone may react so just prepare yourself for a positive or a negative reaction so that you are not blindsided by either reaction, and then if you are okay with that, talk to them. I hope this helps you some! Here are 2 resource links that provide support @ https://www.thetrevorproject.org/abo...rr7y1r6op5aqag or https://www.pflagatl.org/how-to-come...-your-parents/ . You can even call the Trevor Project 24/7 to talk at 1-866-488-7386 or text START to 678678. If you need to talk about this further or anything else please text or call us at 888-222-2228, we're here 24/7.

You mentioned that you feel that your mom doesn’t support you adopting a child when you are ready and this too is your choice and at some point you are going to have to be okay with your choices. Hopefully when that time comes you will be more comfortable with not needing approval from your parents..
