uh I'm a girl so maybe this isn't as normal, but I can't stop masturbating... I keep going online and looking up porn and going and going till I'm too tired. It's just such a euphoric feeling and I love it. But am I doing it too much? I still get all my work done, but this is what i do in my free time sometimes now, and it's getting more frequent. Is this normal? Do I have some weird addiction to masturbating? What do I do if I do?

Masturbation is a normal thing for people to do. An addiction is usually something that negatively interferes with your life. You say in your post that masturbation does not do this for you, so it probably isn't an addiction. However, you do also need to take into account your personal feelings/attitude about masturbation. If it makes you feel uncomfortable in some way or you personally believe it's something you shouldn't be doing, than you may want to reconsider doing it. Also if you feel like it is becoming a problem, you can always attempt to limit the number of times you do it each day. Girls vs. Boys
I find it interesting how in your post you said "I'm a girl so maybe this isn't as normal", in our culture we tend to associate sexuality and sexual desire as appropriate for men, women are portrayed as the object of this sexual desire, not generally as having the desire themselves. We dismiss masturbation for boys as normal and acceptable, in fact when I was in high school I distinctly remember a group of boys in my class having a contest to see who could masturbate the most times in one day. At the same time, my closest friends and I never discussed masturbation, and even now, years later, it is a taboo topic that females tend to deny and/or respond with embarrassment. Most studies do show, however that about the same number of women as men masturbate. It is a normal and healthy thing to do and has many benefits, obviously the feelings you mentioned, but also stress relief and self esteem boosters. The more comfortable we are with ourselves, the more confident we will be. As long as masturbation does not inhibit your social relationships, there is no problem with it.Comment
