Coming out to homophobic friends

Is it a bad idea to come out to my friend even though he's extremely homophobic? I don't really care if he doesn't accept me.

The thing to keep in mind about coming out is that it is a different experience for everyone that does it and it should be done in a way that you are comfortable doing it. There are no real set in stone rules about how to come out, just do it in a way that you feel comfortable. So if you feel like the time is right to come out to your friend and you feel like you don't care about his reaction and you are comfortable doing it, then yes, you can make the choice to tell him.
