I can understand how you want to feel like your friends if they have all gotten their period already. Talk to your mother and ask her when she first had her period, a lot of times you can be at a similar age when you first get yours. You can also ask your school nurse for information about your period if you feel comfortable or even your health teacher. Listen, I don’t know how old you are, but something to keep in mind is that puberty begins at a different age for everyone. There is a great educational website on this subject; you should check it out @ http://puberty101.com/. It can explain what puberty is and how it is different for males then it is for females. Another great website to visit is http://www.plannedparenthood.org/info-for-teens/. It gives you a definition of what a period is and how often you will get it throughout your life.
