  • How do you feel about the Abercrombie and Fitch Size-Discrimination?

I was just curious as to how you all feel about Abercrombie and Fitch's recent declarations regarding their small sizes? Do you think a company should be allowed to say that bigger built peopel should not wear their cloths? Will you still shop at the store? Or do you feel that wearing their clothing endorses what the brand now stands for?

This is a great topic for discussion, the idea of size discrimination is just as bad as any other form of discrimination. But his statement allows people to make a choice for themselves if this is a store they wish to support anymore that discriminates in this manner. People have the power to put a store like this out of business simply by not shopping there and supporting this type of discrimination. What people will choose to do remains to be seen.

Agreed. It will be interesting to see how the consumer responds, personally I feel that this statement tarnishes that brand much more than someone overweight wearing their clothing ever could! Additionally, i used to work for A&F and what A&F considers "larger" or overweight is ridiculous, the clothing is made to fit the body of teenagers, and does not account for anyone who is tall or genetically curvy or bigger built. Do not let a clothing brand define your body image!

It is also just an all-around bad idea for the business

          yes

honestly it is there choice and no one has any say in what they do with their clothing. it is just a label. even if they do discriminate that is their choice to portray a certain miserable image. i am 260 pounds and never will fit into A&F but i never want to because of the message they send on not being good enough. we receive that everyday in our schools, media, and own fears of adolescence so why enable one more person to make us feel worthless.

            Mhmm

I'm 13 and not cubby. I fit in a bikini.

I can't wear their sweatshirts. There all too tight.

Really, they need to re-think their options.
Their large is like a small, and they don't even make a XL...
