If someone threatened to rape me, is that illegal? Does the situation matter?

Statements about rape are always a serious matter, especially if they are being used as a threat. Unfortunately, without knowing further information about the situation it is not possible to determine if the threat is considered illegal. However, if whoever is threatening you is making you feel unsafe, and is invading your personal boundaries or privacy in any manner this is considered harrasment at the very least. No one deserves to feel this way, and you have the right if you are feeling unsafe to tell a trusted adult, counselor at school, parent, or the police so that they can provide you some options to ensure your safety.
