I've been bullied all of my life for being Sicilian. I've been facing some problems for a few years now. Once my friends figured out that I had a pure Sicilian heritage, they've done nothing but bully me over it. One day I was invited to sit down with my friends and they poured ragu sauce on my head and whispered Italian in my ear. I'm terrified to go to school because I can't stand the looks people give me. Why can't a paisan get a break? They keep slipping me pieces of paper that have random Italian words on them, and one time the entire script of the first episode of the Sopranos was in my locker. I'm tired of it.

Anti-Italian sentiment is popular at my school, and it's quite frankly disgusting. When my family moved here from New York, we thought it would be a bastion of hope for Italians but it just ended up being a racist hellhole. I'm sorry, I know all of you aren't like this, but I love my homeland.

None of that type of behavior is acceptable and you have the option to report it to your school if you want to. Your school should have an anti-bullying specialist that can help you get this behavior to stop. You can also let your parents know what's going on and they might be able to set up a meeting at the school to address this behavior. That behavior is totally unacceptable. The school needs to do something about this, if not your parents or whoever you live with needs to march down to the school and demand something be done. If you have too, talk to the superintendent of the school. I was bullied from 4th grade up until high school so I feel your pain. Not all people are like this. I personally love Italians and their heritage. Be proud of who you are. I really hope this nonsense ends and you can enjoy going to school.

Being Sicilian is one of the COOLEST heritages in the world. You should be proud of who you are, kids are cruel and I know how tough it is to ignore them but what I know about Sicilians are that they are very tough and strong willed, you WILL get through this, and the kids will leave you alone, all it takes is time.
