  • Having trouble with coming out

I’m lesbian, but afraid to come out to anyone.

Coming out is a different experience for everyone and one of the things to keep in mind is that you should only take the steps you are comfortable taking. There is no right or wrong way to do it. With that in mind is there any person who you are comfortable with knowing you are a lesbian? Do you think your parents would be accepting? Do you have a good friend that you think you could confide in that wouldn't say anything until you are ready to come out openly? They might be good choices to start the process with if you have either and are comfortable with them. If not, how about a school counselor (when you're back in school). They wouldn't tell anyone else. For some additional advice and ideas, check out https://www.thetrevorproject.org/ and see if you can get any additional ideas. Call or text us anytime at 888-222-2228.
