  • Bisexual guy needs help coming out

I want to tell my family I am bisexual, but I come from a long line of Heterosexual Gujarati Farmer Brahmins. Anyone who broke this line has been practically disowned by my family (example: my aunt fell in love with a Punjabi, no one talks to her anymore). All my friends are also homophobic. How can I tell my friends and family the truth without loosing them?

Telling anyone about your sexuality is a personal choice so whenever you feel comfortable to do it, do it. Just understand that you can't control how your parents may react so just prepare yourself for a positive or a negative reaction so that you are not blindsided by either reaction, and then if you are okay with that, talk to them. The same goes for your friends and if it is a true friendship your sexuality won't matter to them. I hope this helps you some! Here are 2 resource links that provide support @ https://www.thetrevorproject.org/abo...rr7y1r6op5aqag or https://www.pflagatl.org/how-to-come...-your-parents/ . You can even call the Trevor Project 24/7 to talk at 1-866-488-7386 or text START to 678678. If you need to talk about this further or anything else please text or call us at 888-222-2228, we're here 24/7.
