  • I Give Up...

I'm sure some of you have read my other posts, I say this in pretty much all of them... I have been through A LOT in the past couple years. My problems have ranged from family issues to my sexuality. Throughout my journey of finding who I am, I've lost a lot of friends. Last year, I was beyond devastated. In confidence, I had come out to some of my closest friends, who then proceeded to spread it. Since then, I've dealt with more serious things regarding my sexual orientation. I've been verbally harassed by my peers. People have even threatened to beat me. What hurts the most, is that the handful of people who support me, can't help. I've come to understand that the harassment is something I'll have to live with my entire life.

Thank you for reaching out to 2NDFLOOR. I'm so sorry that you are experiencing such inappropriate and hurtful behavior when it comes to your sexual orientation. Unfortunately in this world you will come across people that fear getting to know something that they don't understand. Some of them don't realize the damage they cause while others intentionally act in these ways. However, there is no excuse for the way you are being treated and this is not something that you should have to live with. If these things are happening at school please report them to a teacher, principle, counselor, etc. There can be serious repercussions for their actions. If it is outside of school you can also report it to the police. Document any attacks or threats that happen. Here are some resources that may provide you with a network of resources, contact information, and individuals who may have had similar experiences. http://www.glbthotline.org/ http://www.thetrevorproject.org/ http://www.glaad.org/about https://www.liveoutloud.info/resourc...organizations/ There are a lot of people that will not understand what you are going through, but there are also a lot of people that do! We want to help you in anyway that we can. If you want to talk more contact 2NDFLOOR Youth Helpline 24/7 or text us daily 12PM-8PM at 888-222-2228.
