Teen Anxiety

It is a little difficult to give you suggestions without knowing what type of things worry you. However, we can make some general suggestions. Try to keep track of things that worry you and things that relax you. When you are feeling worried, do something that relaxes you. You might want to try "Deep Breathing Exercises". This video has good instruction for Deep Breathing. It may seem silly at first, but if you try it and it works, deep breathing could be helpful for when you are feeling stressed.
If you enjoy exercising, exercise can be a helpful way to let out some energy and feel more relaxed. Also beware that caffeine, alcohol and drugs can contribute to anxiety.
Talking about your worries can also be very helpful. Try to identify someone in your life that you can talk to. This might be a friend, a family member, a guidance counselor, or a school psychologist or social worker. You can also call 2NDFLOOR 24/7 at 1-888-222-2228. We would be happy to talk to you and find out more information to give you more specific suggestions.
