I’m getting angry over little things and act violently toward the person that made me angry.

Thanks for reaching out. This can be very serious and also very dangerous especially depending on your age and who you are specifically acting violent toward. Please keep in mind that depending on these factors the police can become involved. There must be other ways to get your anger out. Feeling angry is a normal feeling. If you are feeling too much of this feeling by getting angry over little things or for irrational reasons at times it would be important to speak with a counselor or therapist. In the meantime when you feel yourself starting to get angry walk away or remove yourself from the situation so you can be alone and try to cool down by taking deep breaths and counting. You can try punching a pillow or something similar. It could be helpful to talk to us further about this by calling or texting our helpline. We are here 24/7 at 888-222-2228.
